WORKSHOPS

This is a 2 day experiential workshop in small groups of
8 to 12 participants to explore different expressive art
mediums for personal and professional development
(CPD accreditation with HPCSA - psychology: 16 CEU's).

That said: any person aged 16 - 90 interested in their own creative potential and its transformative possibilities are welcome.

This course is designed to give participants exposure to a variety of creative mediums (art-making, voice and sound-work, creative writing/journaling and movement) in a relaxed and non-judgmental atmosphere. Exercises of sound and voice as well as movement are interwoven with visual art and creative writing to deepen the sensory experience. The focus is not on the end-product – not on technique of painting, visual effect or meaning of the picture, style of writing or steps in a dance. The emphasis is on the experience and the expression of your own creative self. The connection and interplay between the creative mediums and all the senses facilitates integration of body, mind, spirit and emotions. In this safe and creative context you are invited to explore and express yourself through different exercises over the two days.

Exercises include exploring the following art mediums:

  1. Visual art: doodling and drawing with charcoal, soft pastels, painting, clay sculpting and mixed media.
  2. Spontaneous and playful movement, breathing and gestures.
  3. Sound and voice work.
  4. Creative Writing and Journaling.

NO PREVIOUS ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED just a willingness to explore! Just bring yourself in comfortable clothes and an expectation of enjoyable creativity.
